Bon Voyage, Flat Stanley

The story Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown is about a boy who was flattened by a bulletin board one night.  He then goes on many adventures because he is flat.  One such adventure involved Stanley visiting a friend across the country traveling by mail.  So, our class made our very own Flat Stanley so that we can send him on adventures as well.

We learned how to address an envelope, then carefully placed Flat Stanley inside.  It was with a lot of excitement and anticipation that we mailed him before our Spring Recess.  The children each placed their Flat Stanley envelope into the mailbox with the utmost care.  Now we eagerly wait for his return to our classroom so that we can learn about his experiences while with our friends or families.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun

I have to report that despite our best efforts and creative leprechaun traps, the clever leprechauns eluded us this year.  They made a mess in our classroom, left behind footprints, and managed to escape without getting caught.  However, they did leave behind some treats for us.  I guess we will have to try again next year.  Maybe we’ll get lucky.

What would you do with a pot of gold?  Oh the possibilities!

Graphing with Lucky Charms.  Fun and tasty!
